I think this film is going to be part of cinema history. Gollum should win the 'Best Supporting Actor' Oscar hands down. And why not? I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but he's a CG character. However this film should remove any doubts as to wether a computer generated character should be eligable for an award. Basically everything you see is provided by Andy Serkis, the voice, the movement, the emotion,... and (if we add all that up) the acting! This is an acted role, not an animated one so what's the difference between this and, say wearing a latex mask?

I'm not going to ruin any of the of the other effects for you, apart from to say that Weta have done another outstanding job!

The battles are handled tremedously. Trust me, if you havn't seen the film then you're not prepared for the scale of them. The Uruk-Hai army still blows my mind just thinking about it!

Right I've gotta stop now. It's getting pretty late, so I should go to bed before I bore you guys!
