Narnia Cast Member Kiran Shah Chats On TheOneRing.net This Weekend

TheOneLion's sister-site TheOneRing.net is hosting a live Q&A chat this weekend [Saturday June 18, 5.30pm EDT (US East Coast)] with Kiran Shah - who plays the White Witch's evil offsider, Ginarrbrik, in the adaptation of CS Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

In Lord Of The Rings, Kiran doubled as - and did stunts for - all four of the main hobbits at one time or another. He worked most closely with Elijah Wood, doubling for Frodo. [More]

NZ Company To Offer 'Narnia' Tours

Celebriel forwards a New Zealand newspaper account noting that a Wanaka Sightseeing, a NZ-based tour company which currently offers file Lord of the Rings tours has gained exclusive access to land used in the filming of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. No firm date for when tours will start, but it will be after the film opens. [More]

$300,000 grant animates Weta

Special effects company Weta Workshop has been granted $300,000 of government money to turn the technology that brought The Lord of the Rings character Gollum to life into a home-grown animation industry. The "motion capture" technology used in the films can deliver high-quality animation for TV at a cheaper price than previously possible. The Foundation for Research, Science and Technology gave Weta the grant through its technology for business scheme. [More]

Closer Look at LWW Game at E3

From gamespot.com: We got a look at the game version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe at Buena Vista Games' E3 display. The game is naturally based on the upcoming winter film of the same name, which is itself based on the first of C. S. Lewis' classic septology of children's books. Much like EA's Lord of the Rings games, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe will allow you to play through the events of the film with multiple playable characters in one- or two-player modes, and each of the story's diminutive heroes will feature their own special powers and abilities. Disney, EMI Plan Multiple 'Narnia' Soundtracks

Walt Disney Studios/Walden Media and EMI Music are teaming to create two soundtracks for "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." To be released separately in the fall, one set will feature pop and rock artists performing music inspired by the live-action adaptation of the C.S. Lewis classic, while the second will be an inspirational set comprising works by Christian acts. [More]
