There he is! :p
Lewman @ 1:54 pm EST

Cool! Here's PJ holding the torch in NZ! As ever, he's wearing the latest and greatest in fashion. Man I love those shorts! :) hehe I'm sure one day he'll donate them to us, so that we can auction them off for loads of money! ;)

Here's a great account from the person who took these great photos!

We arrived in Wellington's small Civic Square on a very grey and cold winter's afternoon. There were only about twenty or so people around and a suspiciously jazzy looking band was setting up to entertain us and keep us from scuttling away to our warm holes. After half an hour the band started playing and I suggested to my camera woman that she call loudly for a selection of Jimi Hendrix, a portly man walked passed and demanded first sausage from the barbeque. Now you'd think that this being the Olympic torch and all someone would have made an advertising effort, but no, there were few in the city who even knew it was going to happen let alone the details.

After an hour the handful of people grew to a crowd of around two hundred and as is customary for anything olympic related there were many school kids, red, green, yellow, blue being marched around by excitable olympic committee members who seemed to be the only ones enjoying the music.

We waited a while as the grey and black cloaked officials wandered in and up the stairs to the stage where the cauldron was to be lighted by ways of Garreth Farr climbing a human ladder - never mind that the thing was only about two feet off the ground.Photographers started arriving and we took our place at our chosen photo spot and discussed the various obstacles involved in taking pictures in poor light conditions with a camera that can't zoom.

Finally the jazz band stopped and a percussion band headed by torch bearer Garetth Farr began pounding out a distinctly pacific island beat. In the distance we could hear the Royal New Zealand Airforce band advancing towards the square. We watched and waited as the sound grew and small flags were thrust into our hands. Presently there came a lull in the drum beats and then the Airforce band exploded around the corner behind which could just be seen the olympic flame held aloft by a strange creature who appeared to be made up of fuzzy hair and glasses. I prodded my camera woman into action and clapped exitedly along with the rest of the crowd as PJ came into full view . I don't think I've ever seen such a look of pride on a man's face as was on PJ's when the crowd started cheering and waving at him. He grinned widely and waved back as the procession stopped right in front of us and PJ honoured us with a big smile and a wonderful photograph. While the officials ranted on about the importance of such occasions the music swelled and the band parted letting PJ walk proudly toward the bottom of the steps to pass on the flame. Once done our hero slipped off before anyone knew what had happened, he was gone and the spell had broken. Gareth made his way to the cauldren without the aid of the human ladder and set it alight to the cheers of a somewhat warmer Wellington crowd.

PJ the Latest
Lewman @ 4:25 pm EST

Just thought I'd post this recent picture of PJ and it's text. Here goes:

Top movie director Peter Jackson has been flat out filming the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the past few months but he's not about to miss the chance to carry the Olympic torch through Wellington. "He's so absolutely honoured to be involved that he's stopping production on the day especially so he can go and carry the torch," says a spokeswoman for the producer, whos list of credits include Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners.

"He hasn't stopped production for anything for the past few months and won't be doing it again until filming has finished so that shows you how excited he is."

TBHL Bigger, Longer and Uncut
Lewman @ 16:02 EST

Well… It’s been a while, but man is this one big update! So let’s get started!

Firstly we have a new entry in the Board of Bastards! Another great effort from Hideous Thing who has this time made a Derek collage for use in the background of windows! Cool huh! J Check it out in the BOB

We’ve also made a new section in the Bad Taste part of TBHL. We’ve recently got in contact with some of the cast and as a result are offering set stories as written by them! J Pretty cool I think you’ll agree! Check that out at: Stories from the Cast

We’ve also made another new section in the ‘His Work’ section. I’ve been informed that a lot of people miss out the filmogrpahy table in the About PJ section, so as a result loads of people don’t know that PJ has been involved in more than the films covered in our main section. So we’ve made a new section to cover these! They are pretty basic at the moment, but we hope to add more to them when we have time!

Yup Pete’s being great to us with the ever growing Bad Taste section! He’s sent us loads more press articles for you all to look at, so go have a read of them, to see the attention BT was getting at the time of release!

We’ve also added a whole host of new Brain Dead case covers and also a few more Frighteners case covers, so go have a look at them in their relevant section!

And FINALLY probably the biggest news item of the update. TBHL is going to be hosting it’s first online chat in June, and guess who we have got for you to ask questions to. Pete O’Herne and Craig Smith (Barry and Giles) from Bad Taste! Pretty kick ass, don’t you think! So stay tuned to TBHL for more news about this event, were already slapping paint in the chat room getting ready for it! ;)

And that, I think you’ll agree is our biggest update, thanks for reading it, you stupid bastards! :P

Frighteners Trailers

We've also added more video clips for Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners. Check out the movie clip sections to see them (a big thanks again to Badmovies for taking the time to encode them for us!)

Also a few more images are added to the movie sections, like the Bad Taste and Braindead clock. And a few more cover scans for the laserdisc version of Braindead :)

Well hopefully that lot should keep you busy for a while! ;)
