September Green Books

It has been difficult to get the final material ready for this month’s Green Books. We have all been distracted by the horror of last week’s events, and for myself, my heart has been broken. We have all been touched by it in some way. But the rule of my life says "The Show Must Go On." With this in mind, we bring you many new things in Green Books:

May all of you be at peace among friends and we will see you next month.

Tolkien Heirs to Shun Tolkien Films

9/20/01, 8:12 pm EST - Xoanon

This article from 'The Daily Express' out in the UK does not surprise me. The Tolkien family, and Tolkien himself detested the popularity of LOTR in the 60's & 70's (you get calls at 3 in the morning from stoned American's asking you if LOTR is really an acid trip and tell me if you like it). And my take on it is, if they want to be left alone, leave them alone...

Lots of speculation on what the Sept. 25th soundtrack release is, but the consensus is that it's not the soundtrack to the upcoming films. Bet they'll come out with a great deal of major hype. Mjshep writes to say: "Media Play is advertising that the LOTR score soundtrack is to be sold on September 25 2001. I called the store in my city and it was confirmed!" Wow, can this be true??? Anyone else who can confirm this and tell us where the soundtrack's for sale, hit the email! I can't wait to hear that haunting hornsolo when Frodo says the fateful words 'I will take the Ring, though I do not know the way' ...and the Maori chorus of men's voices singing in Moria.....(Tehanu wipes drool off cat.....)

UPDATE

Nope, it's just somebody jumping on the LOTR gravy train. The link for the music is here and you'll notice it doesn't give ANY details. Not the Shore score, I'll be bound. Probably the Bakshi film from the 70s or something. Word is the real new soundtrack will be out 'closer to the film's release date.'

A Week Ago Today

America and the world was forever changed just about a week ago today. I will always remember where I was when I heard the news, as many of you will too.

At times like these we must look around at our loved ones, friends and family and really cherish every moment and DO NOT take anyone or anything for granted.

Answering emails this weekend my heart skipped a beat everytime I replied to a TORN fan who wrote up a Lincoln Center report, thankfully I did get replies from all of them.

I'd just like to say that I am now taking the time to thank my friends and family here on TORN, all the staffers who do wonderful work and truly are the backbone of this place. I love you and and appreciate EVERYTHING that is done here, you are my family.
