A poole bungalow that world- famous author JRR Tolkien retired to until his wife's death in 1972 is on the market for £1 million. Tolkein is best known for his books The Hobbit and later the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which were based on imaginative tales of elves, dwarves and wizards in the fictional world of Middle Earth. From totalvideogames.com: Electronic Arts has today confirmed next-gen versions of several of its franchises during a Conference Call to discuss the financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2007... [EA's Chief Financial Officer Warren] Jensen also spoke about 'another' Lord of the Rings title, but again it's unknown whether he was referring to a follow-up to former Project Grey, the previously announced Lord of the Rings: The White Council. Get ready for the Andy Serkis Film Festival. The man who snatched the brass ring voicing Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" movies and the big ape in "King Kong" has three new flicks unreeling in theaters.

He's Mr. Grin in "Alex Rider: Stormbreaker," an assistant to scientist Nikola Tesla (David Bowie) in "The Prestige" and Spike, a henchman of the villainous Toad (Ian McKellen) in the animated "Flushed Away," opening Friday.

A collaboration between Aardman Animation ("Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit") and DreamWorks ("Shrek"), "Flushed Away" follows the story of Roddy St. James (Hugh Jackman), a pampered pet mouse who accidentally takes a dip in the toilet only to be sucked down into a bustling underworld populated with street-smart rats (Serkis, Bill Nighy) and potential gal-pals (Kate Winslet). As was previously confirmed, we deeply regret that both Universal and Fox did not choose to move forward with financing the Halo film under the original terms of the agreement. At this time Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, along with their partner, Microsoft, have mutually agreed to postpone making a feature film based on the Halo video game universe until we can fulfill the promise we made to millions of Halo fans throughout the world that we would settle for no less than bringing a first class film to the big screen...
